Susurration is the word for the sound of the wind moving through the trees.
Page photographs in forests using a medium format TLR camera. She has always loved climbing trees to find sanctuary in their branches. Through overlapping frames in-camera, she explores the complicated associations between women and trees, such as in myths of creation and transformation. As part of her practice, Page collects stories on index cards from visitors to her favorite trees. She finds satisfaction in the hands-on processes of darkroom processing, antique printmaking, and creating handbound books. Her work insists that we are not separate from, but a reciprocally responsible part of nature.
